A MUSICAL LINEAGE

Carrying the Legacy Forward

Trevor Lawrence Jr. carries forward a rare musical lineage rooted in gospel, soul, jazz, Motown, and the studio traditions that helped shape American music.

His father, Trevor Lawrence Sr., built a celebrated career as a saxophonist, arranger, producer, and session musician, contributing to landmark work with artists including Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, B.B. King, The Rolling Stones, Etta James, and The Pointer Sisters.

His mother, Lynda Laurence, brought her voice to Motown history as part of Stevie Wonder’s Third Generation and later as a member of The Supremes. His grandfather, Ira Tucker, served as the legendary lead singer of The Dixie Hummingbirds, whose influence helped define gospel music for generations.

That foundation lives on in Trevor’s own work — across records, stages, studios, inventions, and conversations that continue the family’s legacy of excellence, innovation, and musical impact.
